Are you a highly motivated individual that enjoys applying cutting edge methods in machine learning and computer vision to real world challenges?

The United Technologies Research Center (UTRC) invites interested and qualified individuals to apply for an intern position in the Decision Support and Machine Intelligence (DSMI) Group. The group takes on cutting edge challenges in statistical machine learning, deep neural network, data science, and human computer interaction.

The intern will be responsible for contributing to current research projects on software design and development for mixed reality systems and simulations. Knowledge and familiarity with user interaction design and development is required, prior experience in integration with commercial hardware preferred. The internship will involve surveying scientific publications, performing software engineering in C/C#, Python, preparing presentations on work in progress and collaborating with team members on current and future ideas.

A balance of development, mathematics and problem framing skills is essential.


Individuals with advanced course work or previous internships focused on topics related to user centered design, software engineering and machine learning will be considered for this internship.

The internship is slated to run from June through August 2018.


Qualified candidates must be currently enrolled in an advanced degree program (MS or PhD) in any of the following disciplines:
Computer Science, Mathematics or related disciplines.
